Sony officially marks its entry into the deep end of professional game controllers with the arrival of the DualSense Edge. We also know its price and release date.

This little gem of technology aimed at the most enthusiastic gamers is announced for January 2023, with a price sales fixed at €239.99 all the same (70 € more than its competitor from Xbox). But is the DualSense Edge really worth the cost? Has Sony once again been strong in the creation of this new accessory? The features of the DualSense Edge are all extremely customizable, giving the player the option to create and save different profiles and different mappings, even adjusting even the sensitivity of the triggers and their dead zone to encourage more action in FPS , and lower sensitivity in racing games, for example. It is also equipped with many buttons allowing you to control your gaming experience directly on your controller thanks to the Functions buttons located on the front. They will allow you to control your key presets, volume or voice chat in your game.
As for the back of the controller, the DualSense Edge offers you two additional fully replaceable and customizable keys. The joystick modules are also fully replaceable (sold for €24.99). The DualSense Edge also includes the features of its little sister the DualSense, giving you haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and a USB-C port. It is also heavier and includes various accessories:

An extremely expensive price when compared to its direct competition, the Xbox Series Elite 2 controller for Xbox Series X (€179.99), and a substantial budget if you want to treat yourself to a competition controller. In addition to the increase in the price of the Playstation 5 last September, Sony confirms the current trend of inflation in the cost of gaming. On the other hand, it justifies its price by being fully customizable, something that the Xbox Series Elite 2 cannot claim.
