Four people have died in Malemba Nkulu in the center of the Katanga region in the last 48 hours during intercommunal violence. The incident occurred following the murder of a motorcycle taxi driver perpetrated by supposed bandits identified as nationals of the Kasai region. In retaliation, the victim’s colleagues attacked members of the Kasai community living in Malemba Nkulu. The tension between the community of Katanga and that of Kasai is latent a few days before the elections.
