Dont drink and drive also applies to scooters police

A person operating a motorized scooter in Simcoe was charged with impaired driving after the scooter tipped over, police said.

The charge was laid over the Family Day long weekend after officers responded to a 911 call involving a driver who was ejected from a scooter after it tipped over on Talbot Street South, Norfolk OPP said.

Police didn’t say if the driver was injured.

A 67-year-old Norfolk County resident was charged with impaired driving, police said.

Police took the opportunity to remind the public not to drink and drive.
