75 years later, the zoo has grown into one of the largest in the country, of which many children from the region have fond memories. Since its foundation, with only four employees at the time, the DierenPark has turned out to be a formula for success, although there are also a few black pages in the story. “It is a history with peaks and troughs,” says the current director, Astrid Wassenaar.
