Diablo 4 side quests not enough?

Diablo 4 side quests not enough

Diablo 4 players feel that side quests should offer better rewards.

Diablo 4’s Season of the Malignant is in full swing, and players believe Blizzard can improve its Renown quest. While in Diablo 4, players can skip the main story, the same luxury doesn’t apply to side quests.

Each new season requires a new effort for Renown. Following feedback from the community, Blizzard has allowed up to two Renown bars from the Eternal Realm to remain disabled, but seasonal characters still need to fully visit all five Realms in Diablo 4. Because the Renown system is used as a mechanism that provides important rewards and advantages.

The biggest problem of Diabl o 4 side missions is the lack of rewards

The sum of 20 Paragon points and 10 Skill points is not something to be ignored at all; however, side quests in Diablo 4 offer rather uninspiring rewards. The only importance of side missions in the gameplay loop is to provide Renown points for each completed mission, which leads some Diablo 4 players to feel that Blizzard is not using this concept to its full potential.

More valuable side quests

Although the atmosphere in the community has been tense after the negative reactions to Diablo 4’s Patch 1.1 update, it hasn’t stopped players from sending valuable feedback. Many players believe the game’s side quests should be improved, and NycAlex brought attention to the issue by starting a discussion on the topic on the Diablo 4 subreddit.

As noted by NycAlex, completing side quests provides a nice break from the tedious effort of Dungeon and Strongholds in Diablo 4. However, the rewards for completing these quests often don’t pay off for the effort. A few herbs, a Slime Crystal or two, a few cracked gems, and hardly any experience points do not qualify as exciting quest rewards.

Allowing characters to gain gems that can scale by level or lock unique potion recipes can make that effort feel worthwhile, and thus encourage players to engage more with content beyond the requirement to increase Renown.

While Diablo 4’s seasonal storytelling is reflected in a unique questline for the Season of the Malignant era, it wouldn’t be surprising if Blizzard plans to add more permanent side quests to the game in the future.
