A popular RPG on Steam offers more playing time than Baldur’s Gate 3, and is now getting final DLC

The role-playing game Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is getting its final DLC on Steam in June. This completes the game, even though it already offers over 100 hours of play.

What kind of game is this? Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is the second installment in the Pathfinder series developed by Owlcat. The game currently has a total of 83% positive reviews on Steam.

  • The concept and setting is based on the Pen & Paper of the same name. This is itself a further development of Dungeons & Dragons and is significantly more complex.
  • You take on the role of a crusader in the world of Glorian. Your task is to protect them from merging with the realm of demons. In doing so, you should develop special powers that could almost be described as divine.
  • In the main game you already have 25 classes and 12 races available to create your character.
  • Your decisions in the game lead to different outcomes and can even influence the main plot. There should also be a secret ending.
  • Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous will celebrate its final DLC in June

When will the DLC be released? The final DLC for Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is scheduled to appear on Steam on June 13, 2024. This means that the game still provides you with new content after over 100 hours of play:

The DLC should then be available directly to owners of Season Pass 2 on the release day. Other players can already add the DLC to their wish list on Steam.

With a total playing time of around 212 hours, the role-playing game surpasses the extensive Baldur’s Gate 3 even without DLC. This offers you “only” around 158 hours of playing time in total.

What new content will there be? As the trailer now announces, some new content awaits you in the world of Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous with the DLC. Your journey takes you back to the beginning to the town of Kenabres where you can attend a festival including fireworks to celebrate your victories and have a good time with your friends and loved ones.

More interpersonal relationships in the DLC

The DLC promises some new content:

  • New adventures in Kenabres and a new enemy fortress
  • Personal events with your companions, completely outside of combat and danger
  • A new romantic event with all the romances
  • An arena where you can prove your strength against mystical opponents
  • 11 new archetypes, a new weapon and the ability to switch from one weapon in hand to two weapons in both hands
  • Fully voiced dialogues
  • Pathfinder is particularly worthwhile for players who already love pen & paper and for fans of Baldur’s Gate 3 who might want to immerse themselves in a similar world. However, Pathfinder is not the only game that is a good alternative to Baldur’s Gate 3: 8 games like Baldur’s Gate 3 on PC, PS5, Xbox – you can play them when you’re done with the RPG
