Marcel “MontanaBlack” Eris (35) is one of the biggest streamers on German Twitch. However, in 2022 he had to give up his place on the throne to Elias “EliasN97” Nerlich from Berlin. With an IRL stream, “Uncle Monte” is now back at the top of the Twitch charts.
What stream was that? On August 13, 2023, MontanaBlack swapped their gaming booth for the real world and hosted an IRL stream from Heidepark Soltau. The 35-year-old already had great success with this type of stream in 2022.
While most people associate a visit to the amusement park mainly with fun thrills, some attractions pose quite a challenge for MontanaBlack. Because the Twitch streamer is afraid of heights – and his viewers seem to be quite fond of seeing him suffer.

How was the streaming? Together with his buddy Marc Gebauer and the well-known IRL streamer Adam “SkylineTV” Wolke behind the camera, MontanaBlack strolled through the amusement park, tried the booths and snacked.
The viewers felt really well entertained, especially when the Twitch streamer struggled with his fear of heights. Clips from his ride on the roller coaster or the free fall with the gyro drop tower dominate the streamer’s channel.

As MontanaBlack mentioned on a previous occasion, he sees the IRL streams as “underpants streams”: he hosts them on weekends for viewers to watch on a lazy Sunday.
However, he postponed his visit to the Hamburg Cathedral to a weekday in the hope that it would be less busy and cause less attention. Apparently, MontanaBlack is still trying out exactly how the IRL streams work best for him.
In any case, the concept works, because the streamer was rewarded with a top rating. On average, almost 67,000 people watched MontanaBlack’s escapades, at the peak it was almost 83,000. MontanaBlack is currently in first place on German Twitch (via sullygnome). Just as the 35-year-old had planned.
In terms of watchtime, MontanaBlack was also at the top for a while, but had to admit defeat to his Twitch colleague EliasN97 and his submarathon that started on Sunday.
For MontanaBlack it was the first major IRL stream since his trip to the Black Mountains wildlife park had legal consequences. At the time, a mother obtained a restraining order because she and her daughter could be seen in the background of the stream.
This is probably one of the reasons why the Twitch streamer toyed with the idea of renting the whole Heidepark for his project. Ultimately, however, he decided against it: Other people would also be part of the right feeling, so you sometimes had to stand in line.
