CoD MW3: Season 1 – New graphics driver from Nvidia delivers significantly more FPS, Warzone also benefits from DLSS 3.5

Just in time for Season 1 in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Nvidia has released a new graphics driver. With the DLSS 3.5 feature set, this delivers a decent performance boost for an increased frame rate.

With the start of Season 1 in CoD MW3, the game not only receives new content. At the same time, graphics card manufacturer Nvidia released an updated driver.

With version 546.29, the DLSS 3.5 feature set is now available in all multiplayer lobbies in the various game modes. This now also applies to the Battle Royale mode Warzone. Depending on which RTX graphics card you own, you will benefit more or less from an increased frame rate.

What can the new driver do? Version 546.29 now brings DLSS 3.5 for all game modes in CoD MW3. This also includes Warzone, for which previously only DLSS 2 could be used. This also comes with the option of activating ray tracing with Ray Reconstruction. However, according to the CoD developers, a popular mode from CoD MW2 will no longer be supported in the game.

Thanks to Ray Reconstruction, which is exclusively integrated in DLSS 3.5, reflections and lighting effects appear much more realistic. Better lighting and reflections are only reserved for the lobbies before the start of the round.

In conjunction with upscaling technology, the actual core feature of Nvidia DLSS technology, the driver update delivers more FPS for all owners of an RTX graphics card. This applies down to the old RTX20 series.

Players with a card from the RTX40 series also benefit from a further performance boost through frame generation. Using this technique, an AI-created image is placed between two images calculated by the graphics card. As a result, the gameplay feels even smoother thanks to a further increased frame rate.

Where do you find the driver? If you have installed Geforce Experience, you will be offered the driver update directly. You may have to manually initiate the search in Geforce Experience via the “Drivers” tab.

For everyone who only uses the pure graphics driver in the system, the driver is available to download directly from Nvidia. We have included the direct download link for Windows 10/11 in the 64 bit version here.

How big is the driver file? Nvidia specifies the download size as 669.34 MB. This should mean that the driver can be downloaded quickly even with slower internet connections. The size when downloading via Geforce Experience may vary slightly.

After installing the driver and releasing Season 1 in CoD MW3, you can immediately benefit from the advantages of DLSS 3.5.

This means you are well prepared for the Christmas event that comes into play with Season 1.
