The head coach Jukka Jalonen has named the Finnish men’s national ice hockey team for the spring World Championships.

There are forwards from the NHL Mikael Granlund, Jesse Puljujärvi and Valtteri Puustinen and defender Olli Määttä. In the group named by Jalonen, there are seven men’s world champions and ten first-timers at the World Championship level.

The Ice Hockey World Cup tournament will be played from 10 to 26 May in Prague and Ostrava, Czech Republic. Finland plays in the initial group in Prague with Canada, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway, Austria and Great Britain.

The spring WC tournament is Jukka Jalonen’s last at the helm of the national team. In the next season, he will be the pilot of the Lions Antti Pennanen.
