City man wins $2M prize

A 60-year-old Brantford man won the top prize in Instant $2 Million Extreme game.

“I’ve never seen a check for $2 million with my name on it,” said Peter Stefanovic, a retired auto industry worker. “It’s like a dream.”

Stefanovic said he won $40 playing the same game on a previous ticket, which is how he came to purchase his winning ticket.

“I was at home by myself when I saw the numbers matched and then saw the value. I just yelled out of shock – I couldn’t believe what I was seeing!”

He said he then called his wife and told her to come home because he won big.

“She told me to keep checking it. I still don’t think she’s fully accepted our new reality.”

He said he plans to share his winnings with winnings with his children and then take some time to make other decisions.

“I’ve always wanted a truck, so I might make that happen. I also plan to treat myself to a new set of golf clubs.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Esso on King George Road in Brantford.
