Boil water advisory issued for some Simcoe residents

A boil water advisory has been issued for residents in some parts of Simcoe.

Norfolk County staff issued a news release on Thursday informing residents of “a temporary disruption of water service due to issues that have arisen during the ongoing Talbot Street reconstruction project in Simcoe.” The disruption will affect residents in the surrounding area.

“Norfolk is committed to maintaining public health and safety during this period,” said the release. “All necessary precautions are being taken to ensure that the water service is restored as quickly and efficiently as possible.”

The boil water advisory will be in place until regulatory requirements have been met.

“With guidance from the Ministry and the Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit, county staff anticipate the issue will be rectified in the next 24 to 48 hours and will continually provide updates.”
