Church employee prosecuted after thefts – shopped privately for church money

According to the suspects, the man must have ordered a large number of goods for the Karlskrona-Aspö pastorate. But after a while, several within the church leadership began to suspect that everything was not right.

During an initial investigation, they discovered that a large part of the goods that had been ordered were nowhere in the church’s possession, and a police report was then filed against the former church employee. In total, it was estimated that goods worth millions had disappeared.

Now he is charged with theft and unfaithfulness to the principal. Among other things, he is suspected of having stolen a planer, a radio, a grinding station bench, suitcases and various clothes.

The man has previously been charged with having refueled his private car with the church’s petrol card on several occasions.

The man denies all criminal charges.
