Candidates taking their BTS this year will soon have to take their exams. Discover the precise dates of the different BTS tests for the 2024 session.
This year again, the common tests for the different BTS (Brevet de Technicien Supérieur) begin between the 2nd and 3rd weeks of May in France. A mandatory step for students who wish to obtain their diploma, after two years of training. As a reminder, there are more than 100 BTS specialties, in the fields of production or services.
What is BTS?
The BTS (higher technician certificate) is a professional diploma who prepares through continuous assessment during training (CCF) and through exams. The BTS continues within a high school, and this training, accessible after obtaining the baccalaureate or equivalent, offers specialized teaching. The BTS also includes a compulsory internship in a company and allows you to obtain a professional diploma in two years.

The timetable for the common written tests for the different BTS has been made public by the Ministry of Education. THE first tests will begin from May 14, 2024. Here in detail the official dates for the BTS tests for the 2024 session :

- Mathematics test : Tuesday May 14, 2024
- Legal and managerial economic culture test : Tuesday May 14, 2024
- Modern foreign languages test : Wednesday May 15, 2024

How do the BTS catch-up sessions go?
All candidates having obtained at least 10 out of 20 in the professional field as well as an average of between 8 and 10 in the general field are automatically authorized to take the make-up tests, with two oral tests:
- a question to reassess the candidate’s skills in general culture and expression, modern foreign language, mathematics, physics-chemistry, applied sciences, etc. The student will have to choose the discipline in which he wishes to be interviewed among the disciplines with the highest coefficient of his specialty.
- a question allowing you to reassess skills of the candidate in the professional field.
For each question, the score obtained may replace the average of the tests of all the specific tests in the corresponding field (general and professional).
When will the BTS results be published?
THE BTS results dates are generally viewable by candidates between the end of June and the beginning of July. The exact date is not yet known. Furthermore, you should know that not all results are communicated on the same day from one academy to another and depending on the specialties chosen.
