Almost every Star Wars film causes great debate among fans. We’ve experienced this several times in recent years with the sequel trilogy. In between, however, there was one exception that the majority agreed on: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. For many it is one perfect Star Wars film.
The story begins shortly before the events of Star Wars and tells how the rebels… Plans for the first Death Star arrived. The focus is on Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), the daughter of Death Star architect Galen Erso (Mads Mikkelsen). The film also features another important character.
The story of Rogue One was expanded with the great Star Wars series Andor on Disney+
In Rogue One: A Star Wars Story we meet Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), who risks his life as a captain and intelligence officer for the Rebel Alliance. But Cassian was not a convinced rebel from the start. The spin-off series Andor, which appeared on Disney+ two years ago, tells its backstory.

Five years before Rogue One, Cassian lives on the run-down planet Ferrix, which… Junkyard of the Galaxy equals. The sun rarely appears. The Empire’s presence, however, is increasing, primarily through the security company Preox-Morlana, which closely monitors all events in the sector.
When Cassian is checked one night by two Pre-Mor employees, the situation escalates and he leaves the scene as a murderer. From then on he is on the run and ends up with one radical rebel cell in contact, who is planning a tricky heist. Before Cassian knows it, he finds himself in a much bigger conflict.
Andor is a great prequel. Even though we know how Cassian’s story ends, the series manages to do so over twelve episodes incredible tension to build. Tony Gilroy, the creative mind behind the project, has created one of the most gripping Star Wars stories that doesn’t shy away from any uncomfortable questions.
Andor moves in moral gray areas between Rebellion and Empire and features some of the best Star Wars scripts ever. Brilliant dialogues, complex characters and nerve-wracking storylines, which are usually told over the course of three episodes each.
When is Rogue One: A Star Wars Story on TV?
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story airs tonight, January 21, 2024, at 8:15 p.m. on ProSieben. With advertising, the broadcast lasts until 11 p.m. The repeat follows at 2:00 a.m. Alternatively, you can watch the film on Disney+. There is also the first season of Andor there. The second season is currently in production.
