Brant County firefighters will be conducting a controlled burn training exercise at a Cainsville house on Saturday.

The training exercise, at 1388 Colborne St. E., begins at 8 am Nov. 25 and motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible. The house is between Papple Road and Brant School Road.

County officials say the area will be smokey and there will be a number of fire trucks on site.
The exercise will focus on fire attacks, ventilation, search and rescue and allow firefighters to test new equipment.
Fire attack training teaches firefighters how to assess and approach a working fire, how to manage the scene and tactics to put it out. Ventilation training focuses on techniques to make firefighting safe and more effective.
Firefighters will also practice finding and rescuing victims safely.
