Bluetongue virus at sheep farms in Stichtse Vecht and Wijdemeren

Stichtse Vecht – An infection with the bluetongue virus has been detected at four sheep farms in the same region. It concerns the municipalities of Stichtse Vecht and Wijdemeren. Outgoing Minister of Agriculture Piet Adema reports this to the House of Representatives. It is the first time since 2009 that this animal disease, which poses no threat to humans, has been found in the Netherlands.
