Pizzeria gave away free pizzas to needy families

Hakan Kücük, 41, works at Åkermyntan pizzeria in Hässelby in Stockholm.

The pizzeria has on several occasions written in local Facebook groups and asked people who are struggling with finances to contact the pizzeria, then they are happy to offer pizza.

Those who have contacted the pizzeria directly on these occasions have received free pizzas for the whole family.

“We helped 14 families with food and love. The children were so happy. Important to spread love in these times,” writes the pizzeria in a post in a local Facebook group and thanked for all the nice response they received.

This weekend, the pizzeria decided once again to give away free pizzas and help families in need. The reason for the initiative is the tough financial situation and that the pizzeria wants to help and support.

– After one of the bombings in Hässelby last year, we made a similar post and let victims who had their homes destroyed come by and eat for free. Several actually came. I felt it was the least we could do then, says Hakan Kücük Middle of.
