Björn Ferry’s brutally honest words about why he nobbles TV jobs – hailed the expert’s new move: “No, no, no”

After he ended his biathlon career in 2014, Björn Ferry has withdrawn from the limelight.
Even though he gets a bunch of requests to participate.
– “Let’s dance” and stuff like that… no, no, no, says Ferry to Expressen.

Bjorn Ferry, 45, had a successful career as a biathlete. An Olympic gold and a World Cup gold are on the list, along with a bunch of World Cup victories.

Ferry’s career

After 13 years as a biathlete, Ferry put the rifle on the shelf in 2014, as a 35-year-old (he would turn 36 later that year). Shortly thereafter, he signed a six-year contract with SVT as an expert commentator on the channel’s television broadcasts of biathlon.

About a year after he finished his biathlon career, Ferry released a book entitled “Ferry tales: Not so damned arranged” in 2015. The book was rewritten and made headlines, among other things when Björn singled out the former biathlete Helena Ekholm like a bully.

Ferry’s play

In addition to the assignments he has taken on, Ferry has not wanted to be seen that much, and has turned down a lot, he says.
– I turn down almost everything. Ideally, I would have seen a university get in touch for me to do guest research. But they are not the ones calling. Instead, they ask if I want to be part of sports TV. “Let’s dance” and stuff like that… no, no, no. I’ve even had requests to host. Why are you asking me about that? I am not a presenter, he says to Expressen.

Ferry doesn’t think about money when it comes to choosing what he wants to do with his life.
– You only live once. I have to ask myself who I want to be. How I want to live and do something that makes sense.
