Now Bianca Salming opens up about the tough times.
– I think we took advantage of the time in the best way we could, she says in an interview with Sportbladet.

Last Thursday fell asleep Börje Salming after several months of struggle with the nerve disease ALS. One of Swedish hockey’s greatest and one of Sweden’s most loved athletes turned 71 years old and the sadness has been great this past week.

Bianca’s great sadness

Börje fell asleep in his home and was surrounded by his immediate family until the end. The daughter Bianca Salming now opens up about the great sadness and longing for his father.

The family has come together in grief and the 24-year-old tells how she wants to remember her father Börje.
– As the warmest and most caring father. He was bubbly and always happy. Dad always wanted everyone’s best and did anything for us children and the family, he always put everyone else first, she says in an interview with Sportbladet.

Worst in my life”

Börje Salming became known for his fine physique already as a hockey player and even in the autumn of his age he managed to keep his body fit. Now Bianca tells us that it was the absolute hardest thing, seeing her father getting weaker and weaker.
– It is probably the worst thing I have experienced so far in my life. It was horrible to be part of it from the outside. And then I can only imagine what it was like for dad… It’s the worst, says the 24-year-old to the evening newspaper.

The last time together, the family was close together during the tributes both in Toronto, Canada, and during the “Hockey Gala of the Ages” in Avicii Arena. Everything to be there for Börje and help him during the last period of his life.
– I think we took advantage of the time in the best way we could. We did the things that father wanted to do and we did it together with the family, says Bianca Salming in the interview.
