Sitra’s research revealed a big gap in the views of citizens and decision-makers. Citizens would like to participate in decision-making more, but feel that politics is distant. At the same time, only one in five decision-makers believe that citizens are capable enough to participate in complex discussions about political decisions. Sitra’s project manager Hannu-Pekka Ikäheimo considers that we have reason to be concerned about the state of democracy in Finland.

Iceland is happy about Finland’s NATO membership

Humpback salmon will flock to Tenojoki again next summer

An avalanche of humpback salmon is expected again next summer. We want to try the same technique in Finland at Tenojoki as well.

Rains are coming from the west
