Attack on church with machete in Spain: Priest killed, 4 injured

A person attacked two churches with a machete in the Algeciras district of Cadiz in southern Spain, killing 1 priest and wounding 4 people.

In the information given in the Spanish press, it was recorded that a person who attacked two churches in Algeciras at around 19.30 (21.30 pm) killed a priest with a machete and injured at least 4 people.

It was reported that Diego Valencia, the priest of Nuestra Senora de la Palma, the largest church in the center of Algeciras, died immediately after the attack.

It was reported that the person walking in the San Isidro Neighborhood with a machete and attacking another church injured the priest and 3 other people with a machete.

It was shared that the injured were not life-threatening.

Spanish state television RTVE announced that the attacker was a 25-year-old male of Moroccan origin and was caught by security guards.

Eyewitnesses said the attacker killed the priest with a machete after the argument.
