Athletics: 17-year-old Christian Miller ran the year’s fastest 100-meter race: 9.93

The track and field season may be young, but Miller’s time is very impressive regardless.

In fact, after tonight’s results, Miller, a senior at Creekside High School in Florida, is the fastest American teenager of all time.

Only two 17-year-olds have run faster than Miller in the 100 meters: Issam Asinga, Suriname, who, aged 18, ran 9.89 last year (soon after he tested positive for doping) and Botswana’s Letsile Tebogo, who in 2022 ran 9.91 .

The previous world annual best was held by Favor Ashe, Nigeria, at 9.99.
