Asics is launching a worldwide study allowing athletes to realize how sport influences their feelings and states of mind.

For the first time, a digital tool can demonstrate the impact of movement on the mind. This tool designed by Asics, called the Mind Uplifter, allows amateur athletes located anywhere in the world to see and understand how sport can affect their state of mind.

The principle ? Using facial recognition technology, a detailed questionnaire and a few minutes of physical exercise, participants can observe how sport affects their various emotional and cognitive indicators. The goal is to conduct this study on a global scale and demonstrate all the benefits of sport on mental well-being.

    Positive effects on morale?

According to a preliminary study also conducted by Asics and EMOTIV, a bioinformatics company, it seems that around 15% of participants would feel calmer and 14% more satisfied after jogging. Preliminary results from our study underscore the profound impact that 20 minutes of running can have on our minds. Given the crucial role exercise plays in maintaining our well-being and mental health, it is more important than ever that the general public can see and understand the positive connection between the two.”says in a press release Dr. Stubbs, a researcher specializing in mental health and physical exercise.

With this new tool, Asics hopes to study the effects of sport on one million people. It is also a way to motivate participants to do physical activity and stick to it over the long term by observing the positive effects on mental well-being after a sports session. To further encourage amateur athletes, each result shared on social networks with the hashtag #UpliftingMinds, funds will be raised for the mental health charity Mind. So, do we try it?
