AI can find antibiotics against resistant bacteria

Using artificial intelligence (AI), researchers have succeeded in developing a new type of antibiotic that could work as a treatment against one of the world’s most resistant bacteria, acinetobacter baumannii, reports Sweden’s Radio Echo.

— AI is now becoming a more and more important tool in the development of new medicines, and we will see more new substances in the coming years, says Leif Eriksson, professor of physical chemistry at the University of Gothenburg, to Ekot.

The substance has not yet been tested in clinical studies.
