The fire occurred at 6 pm on Sunday in an apartment building in the city. P4 Västernorrland reports that a large rescue effort was on site.
The emergency services were able to quickly extinguish the fire, but the woman’s life could not be saved, writes Sundsvall’s newspaper.
“The apartment will be cordoned off and our technicians will examine the place on Monday,” says Christoffer Hörlin to the newspaper.
