A New Action Espionage Game is Coming from Hideo Kojima

Hideo Kojima is working on a new action spy game. This project will blur the boundaries between video game and film.

Hideo Kojima confirmed that his studio is working on a new IP following the trailer for Death Stranding 2. This new game will be in the action espionage genre and, like many of Kojima Productions’ projects, will aim to blur the boundaries between video game and film.

Kojima’s Sony and Columbia Pictures Partnership A New Action Espionage Game

There is a partnership with Columbia Pictures in the production of the game. This collaboration seems to further highlight the cinematic qualities of the game. Kojima’s unique creative vision and Columbia Pictures’ experience in the film industry are among the factors that will make this new project stand out in both the gaming and film worlds.

In his statement about the new game announced under the name Physint, Kojima said that he “prepared this production for his 40th year in the game development business.” When we thought of “Action Espionage” games, of course the Metal Gear Solid series came to our mind. It seems that the new production will be prepared with MGS influences under his influence.

He also said, “Preparations are ongoing, but production will begin in earnest at Kojima Productions after Death Stranding 2” — adding that “Death Stranding 2 will be released in 2025.”

It is expected that this new IP will follow in the footsteps of Kojima Productions’ previous successful works and bring a new breath to the action espionage genre. This project, which will push the boundaries of the game and movie worlds, is expected to once again show Kojima’s innovative approach to game design.
