The Social Democrats want a cyber commission to be appointed to analyze how the major IT attack could have such large effects for a number of authorities, regions and companies. The Russian group Akira is said to be behind the attack.

– We believe that this is so big that you should review what happened between companies and authorities and how the government office’s coordination was, says former defense minister Peter Hultqvist (S).

For example, he wants answers to whether the security in the IT systems is updated in a reasonable way and whether the companies hired for IT security comply with security protection agreements.

– At the moment, I am not looking to hold anyone accountable. I’m looking for us to get better at handling this type of situation, says Hultqvist.

He wants the commission to consist of both experts and politicians.
