Finnish President Sauli Niinistö announced on his social media account that he will visit Turkey to discuss his country’s membership in NATO with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Niinistö said that Turkey has reached a decision regarding Finland’s NATO membership and that this decision will be taken by President Erdogan himself.

“The Turks said I could be there as soon as this decision was announced. Of course, I accepted this invitation. I’m going to get the statement.”

SWEDEN DESCRIPTION

Niinistö underlined once again that Sweden should join NATO along with Finland, “I will continue my efforts to support Sweden’s NATO membership.” said.

Finland and Sweden applied for NATO membership last May, after Russia began invading Ukraine. So far, 28 out of 30 NATO countries have signed the NATO accession protocol of Sweden and Finland. Turkey and Hungary, on the other hand, have not yet made a statement on the membership of the two countries. (UAV)
