It was at the end of June that the boy sought treatment for his injuries and medical staff alerted the police. Prosecutor Irene Falk has now filed an indictment against the 16-year-old boy, who is charged with attempted murder.
– I do not want to go into what I am requesting for punishment until the trial is over, says the prosecutor.
According to Irene Falk, everyone involved in the interrogation agrees that the two boys, who have known each other for a long time, decided to meet in a basement of an apartment building where they later started fighting.
– They were for some reason enemies and had been in some form of conflict before. The plaintiff deals the first blows, but then it turns to the defendant taking out a knife and using it, says Falk.
The incident was filmed
As technical evidence, there are testimonies from friends who were at the scene during the fight and a film of the incident.
– In addition to the young boys, some of their friends were also there and observed what happened. Two of them filmed the sequence of events with the stabbing. The knife that was used is said by witnesses to have been thrown, but it has not been found, says Irene Falk.
Expected to be fully recovered
The 12-year-old boy has now been allowed to leave the hospital.
– I don’t know if he has any remaining problems after this incident, but he is expected to be almost recovered, says Irene Falk.
The accused boy admits that he has been in this quarrel with the plaintiff and that he has dealt blows with a knife, but he denies any crime. Due to his young age, he is not deprived of his liberty.
– He is also not in the care of the authorities according to my knowledge, says Irene Falk.
