Zurich support for the LGBTQIA community starts with education every

(Tiper Stock Exchange) – Zurich support the community LGBTQIA+ with the participation in the Milan Pride 2023 and continues the education process for all employees on the subject of diversity in addition to the initiatives in support of the LGBTQIA+ community carried out throughout the year. Webinars, workshops, debates are the main tools with which the Group continues to promote theacceptance and understanding of diversityin all its forms.

On the occasion of the month of Pride 2023, Zurich in partnership with theArcigay Associationorganized a webinars dedicated to educational activities on some of the basic concepts for the LGBTQI+ community, such as the meaning of biological sex, affective-sexual orientation, up to gender identity and expression. Participants will then be free to present their questions to the speakers, bridging gaps often the result of limited knowledge.

Like every year, the Company will be an active part of Pride Milano 2023, as a Donors Partner with the participation of employees in the final parade on June 24th. The whole month will be marked by activities aimed at involving the population corporatecustomers and the local community, thanks to the support of employee volunteers, always with the aim of promoting a message of acceptance And equality, also through the Group’s social channels. The campaign of awarenessscheduled for the entire month of June, “Discover the differences that make us all the same” will promote Pride Month within the Zurich offices, communicating the value of inclusion to the entire corporate population.

Worldwide, the Group will organize events, podcasts and webinars dedicated to awareness. For example, at Spain, an event dedicated to the meaning of Pride as a manifestation for the LGBTQIA+ community and for its real affirmation will be held; also in Switzerland, in addition to participation in Pride in Zurich, an appointment dedicated to the importance of inclusion is planned. In Canada, Zurich employees will be able to attend an event on Canadian Center for Diversity and Inclusion to learn more about how companies can demonstrate their support for the community; in Colombia, the Group will organize a series of workshops to inform employees about the difficulties encountered every day by the LGBTQIA+ community. Numerous outreach activities will be held in Mexico, including an expert panel on the topic of diversity.

Also on its social channels, Zurich Italia shares the major global news for LGBTQIA+ communities, to create awareness and contribute to dialogue public on diversity and inclusion. In the Stonewall ranking among the Top 100 Employers 2023 who promote LGBTQIA+ rights at work, the Group then created – already five years ago – LGBTQIA+ communities in the countries where it operates, to promote inclusion and corporate culture.

However, support for LGBTQIA+ communities must go beyond a single event. Recognizing the importance of a inclusive work environment and welcoming for all its people – regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity or any other form of diversity – Zurich has long promoted the diversity through internal policies of non-discrimination and training programs to educate and sensitize their own people; encourages support networks to offer emotional and professional support and is involved in social responsibility initiatives, with the aim of amplifying the voices of the community.

From 2020 Zurich Italy offers a leave of absence paid 16 weeks for all primary parents and 6 weeks for co-parents, to be used after the birth, fostering or adoption of the child, allowing the joy and commitment of the first few months to be shared with the primary parent.
