Since its release on HBO in 2019, Euphoria has become a real cultural phenomenon. Driven by Zendaya, this drama series tells the life of Rue Benett, a young high school addict who returns to her mother after a stay in rehab. Friendly and romantic relationships, addictions of all kinds,… are the themes of this American series nominated for the Emmy Awards. Currently available for a season 2, Euphoria also knew how to stand out thanks to Zendaya, revealed by Disney Channel in 2010. The 25-year-old star multiplies her beauty treatments, oscillating between no make-up and glittery make-up.

Zendaya’s sparkly makeup

All make-up fans will love watching Euphoria because the program has become a true source of beauty inspiration. The enthusiasm is such that there is even a hashtag #euphoriamakeup on Instagram listing all the make-ups in the series. Already at the forefront of the trend for a few years, sequins have become more essential than ever. The Spider-Man actress reveals it on her eyelids, under her brow bone, on her cheeks… the glitter is everywhere and we love it. Sometimes even a few star stickers dot her cheekbones. Doniella Davy, the show’s make-up artist, tells the magazine pace : “Rue is not a walking disco ball. Her use of glitter is subtle and emotive.” In some episodes, Zendaya appears with golden triangles under her eyes, a bias that was also explained by Doniella Davy: “This look naturally gives off a sad, brooding look, a bit like tears.” This is also where the trend called Glitter Tears, in other words, the glitter tears.

Zendaya, without makeup in Euphoria

To embody her character as a young “problematic teenager”, Zendaya does not always wear makeup, it appears besides very often without. Natural, messy hair, non-existent make-up, she’s a girl like any other. She’s far from perfect and slick like a lot of teen series heroines. Besides in Euphoria, makeup is not necessarily a way to look beautiful, it is a mode of expression in its own right. Most female characters use this art to highlight their personality and emotions.

By offering such daring looks, the series reveals its uniqueness and inspires the beauty trends of tomorrow. A real favorite !
