Youth care negotiations collapsed, plans for mass protest in Utrecht

Utrecht starts campaign to improve mental health of young people

Cutbacks, safety and high workload, among other things, have been hindering youth care for years. The supply is full, according to the unions. “In the last seven years, youth care professionals have had to fight nine times on the Malieveld for better working conditions. And now that the sector has been so eroded by failing policies and cutbacks, the employer is once again choosing to cut back on wages. This is unacceptable for the people who have kept youth care afloat all these years,” says Maaike van der Aar, director of FNV Youth Care.
