Until this week, the tower was still in the garden of Van der Sman from Nootdorp. He worked on the replica, which is over 5.5 meters high, for ten years. He baked the more than 30,000 bricks of 2 centimeters long, 1 centimeter wide and 6 millimeters thick himself in his office. The first stones were laid by his grandchildren. “It’s all masonry, brick by brick,” he says proudly next to his tower.
