(Finance) – Elliott Investment Management he built one stake of approximately $1 billion in Anglo American. Bloomberg wrote, citing people familiar with the matter. The activist hedge fund has been accumulating holdings in recent months, the sources said. The size of the holding places Elliott among the 10 largest shareholders by Anglo American.
In the past few hours Anglo American has rejected the acquisition proposal of the rival mining group BHP for £31.1 billion, saying the offer significantly undervalued the group and its future prospects.
