Xi Jinping was reappointed for five years as general secretary of the Chinese Communist Party, Sunday, October 23, during a vote behind closed doors at the end of the XX Congress of the CPC, according to the official agency. He is therefore expected to be officially confirmed as the country’s president in March 2023.
