Nurse Leona has been working here since August – without a single day off.
– It’s heavy. You never know when you have to get going. Some days we have ten or fifteen minutes to rest, but other days we don’t even have that, she says.
In other parts of the country, Ukraine is reclaiming land occupied by Russia. But in Donbass, Russia has been attacking with everything they have for months.
Ukraine is still holding the defensive line, but at a high price in blood.
– Their artillery not only reaches here in town, but also beyond it, says the trauma doctor Konstantin.
“We will continue until we win”
There is no information on how many soldiers and civilians have died in the battle for Donbass. But it’s about hundreds, probably thousands.
And no one thinks it will end soon.
– Our soldiers are out there, so we have to do this work. And we will continue until we win, says Leona.
