The information was incorrect

However, through a photo taken at the time of the speeding, the district court was able to establish that the information the woman provided in her testimony was incorrect.

The photo showed that there was no blizzard at the time, and that there was not even snow on the ground. Later on the same day that the speeding took place, the road signs in question were also checked without comment.

For that reason, the driver was convicted of the speeding offence. Traffic fines of this type usually involve fines as a penalty.

Giving false testimony under oath, on the other hand, is a much more serious crime, and the woman was charged with perjury for her lie about the weather conditions. She was later sentenced to two months in prison for the crime.

The woman, however, denies any crime, and appealed the case to the Court of Appeal with the support of two photographs.

Now, however, the Svea Court of Appeal follows the district court’s line according to Today’s Lawand sets the sentence at two months’ imprisonment.
