The alarm came shortly after 08:00 on Wednesday morning.
The truck trailer ended up on the roadway after the driver of the vehicle skidded. The woman then drove her car into the trailer and got stuck.
After the emergency services freed her, she was taken by ambulance helicopter to hospital, but her life could not be saved.
The police have started a preliminary investigation into negligence in traffic and causing the death of another.
