Wolf attack in Norrtälje – two horses killed

Two horses have died after a wolf attack in Norrtälje.

In the same area, there have previously been several wolf attacks on sheep.

Two horses have died after being attacked by wolves north of Norrtälje in Stockholm county on Wednesday, writes the newspaper Ridsport. This is the first documented wolf attack on a horse with a fatal outcome in Sweden.

The County Administrative Board came to the scene later on Wednesday and is said to have then observed the wolves trying to get back to the killed horses.

Earlier in the same area, there have been extensive wolf attacks on sheep.
