Witnesses from the shooting in Bredäng: “Scary of course”

On Thursday evening, a man was shot to death in a residential area in southern Stockholm.
Now Eva Kaur, who lives in the area, is worried that her own son will be recruited into the gangs.
– I’m terrified, she says.

Late on Thursday evening, the police were alerted to a residential area in Bredäng in southern Stockholm. There, a 25-year-old man was found on the ground, shot. After life-saving measures, he died on the spot.

Eva Kaur lives in one of the apartment buildings that surround the place where the man was shot dead.

– It is unpleasant to hear that someone died right outside our house, she says.

Eva has a six-year-old son. As he grows older, Eva becomes increasingly worried that he will be recruited into criminal gangs.

– I’m terrified, she says.

– I’m trying to get him to start playing football instead of going out with friends. He has to go to school, practice football and be busy all the time. So that he doesn’t go out with friends, you don’t know what they are like.

“He is dead! He is dead!”

TV4 Nyheterna has spoken to another woman in the area.

– I was sleeping, but my husband heard the shots. And a woman who just screamed: He’s dead! He is dead! says a woman.

Robin also lives in the area. He is on his way to work when TV4 Nyheterna catches him on Friday morning.

– It has been full on during the night, he says.

Robin tells how he heard what at first sounded like fireworks. Then he saw a body lying on the ground and heard crying from one of the balconies.

– It’s scary, of course, but quite a lot has happened here lately. So you’ve gotten a little used to it.
