This trap is made from three ingredients: honey or icing sugar and borax. It can take liquid or powder form. Here are the two step by step.
A liquid ant trap
- Mix 1/2 cup of honey with a tablespoon of borax.
- Add two cups of hot water, continuing to mix well.
- Put the preparation in a spray bottle.
- Spray a few cotton balls with the mixture and place them on plates.
- Install the plates where the ants pass, or where they have taken up residence (window ledges, cracks in the wall, etc.).
- Respray the mixture daily on the cotton pads.
A powdered ant trap
It is just as easy to make.
- Mix equal parts borax and icing sugar.
- Spoon the mixture into cups.
- Place cups in strategic locations, ensuring they are not accessible to children or pets
- You can also sprinkle some in the gaps, such as between the baseboards, making sure to put it back every other day for 15 days.
