The position of the farmer
The position of farmers in the chain must improve when it comes to biobased construction. The government will sit down with contractors and processors to make long-term agreements so that farmers can earn an honest and good living.
Farmers should also be able to earn from carbon storage through certificates. They provide a reward for the stored CO2. The Ministry of Agriculture is working to make this more widely applicable and known, so that farmers can improve their revenue model.
Farmers must also have access to the most up-to-date knowledge about biobased cultivation. Together with LTO and BO Akkerbouw, the government will provide more insight into how farmers can best do this. The intention is to provide tailor-made solutions and see what suits each farm.
