William Nylander’s incredible revenge after the mystery that the whole NHL talked about – became a huge hero in the must-win game last night

He was missing at the start of the playoffs.
Now William Nylander is back.
He became a big hero for the Toronto Maple Leafs last night – and arranged a decisive seventh game against Boston.

Willam Nylander had a good regular season for his Toronto Maple Leafs and was close to, for the second season in a row, reaching 100 points. However, he had a scoring slump in the closing games before the playoffs, and once the first round against Boston got underway, Nylander was not there.

Big hero tonight

Nylander missed the first few games, and no one really knew why. Rumors had it that he suddenly suffered a migraine, forcing him to sit out the first few games, but he was in training, and experts called the whole thing a mystery.

In addition, Toronto has now, in two straight games, had to do without superstar Auston Matthews, who won the regular season shooting league by far. But despite that, Toronto has won two straight games, both with a knife to the throat, and tonight they could thank William Nylander for that. The Maple Leafs would have been out of the playoffs if they lost tonight, but at the end of the second period Nylander stepped up to make it 1-0.

Absolutely decisive match

The Boston Bruins never managed to equalize in the second period despite a desperate chase. Instead, it was William Nylander who pulled away from a free position, and completely coldly spun star goalkeeper Jeremy Swayman away, before the Swede placed the puck between the shin pads of the goalkeeper to make it 2-0. It would turn out to be completely match-deciding. The Bruins cut back at the end, but Boston could never get any closer. This means that the standings in the series are now 3-3, after two straight wins from Toronto.

This means that a very decisive match awaits between the teams, which will decide who goes on vacation, and who gets to play on in the playoffs. That game is in Boston this weekend, and Nylander is looking forward to it.

– It was a great team effort. We fought for 60 minutes and our goalkeeper played an incredible game, says Nylander afterwards.
