When Magnus Samuelsson made a complete mess of a poor Norwegian in the strangest duel we’ve seen

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Magnus Samuelsson has become really popular with all his appearances in the box.
But some times have been better than others.
Just check out when he completely trashes rival Svend Karlsen in this odd commercial from yesteryear, to say the least.

Magnus Samuelsson is the guy who became one of our most popular athletes via powerlifting. At the end of the 90s, he had a huge breakthrough when he won the title of “World’s Strongest Man”, and that was just the beginning of a single long success story for the muscle pack.

Incomparable career

Magnus Samuelsson was a super talent, and even though he started lifting scrap relatively late, it got away from him, and it went a long way. At home in Sweden, perhaps the biggest breakthrough came when he took part in the TV4 driver Let’s Dance, and since then he has appeared in countless television productions.

Magnus Samuelsson has also appeared in international productions and blockbusters, and is now often an actor. But it was perhaps not entirely a given that it would be like that. Even though Samuelsson went straight through the box, it’s a big step to participating in “real” films and TV series, and it’s extra surprising when you think of commercials from last year.

Incredible commercial

On Youtube there is an old – and, to be honest, extremely strange – commercial with Samuelsson where he is suddenly faced with the Norwegian rival Svend Karlsen. They both end up in a classic western duel, but this time over who can empty a soda can of some kind the fastest. And of course it ends with a Swedish crush.

Because when the Norwegian finally gets the lid off the soda can, he can only look up and see Samuelsson who, yes, completely slaughtered his rival in the duel. What the purpose of the commercial is, and whether it was broadcast anywhere at all, is unclear – but it is in any case a feast for the eyes. Talk about inviting yourself!
