FOREST FINGERS ARE MOST AFFECTED

The finger most commonly affected by macrodactyly is the index finger. Next come the middle finger and thumb. In them, the ring finger and little finger are affected. The probability of having macrodactyly of more than one finger at the same time is 2-3 times higher than having a single finger.

WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF MACRODAACTIA?

In macrodactyly anomaly, one or more fingers become much larger than the others. In most people, the large fingers grow at the same rate as the rest of the hand or foot. When it is progressive, the affected fingers grow faster than the rest of the hand or foot.

Affected fingers will usually be about one and a half times the length and width of unaffected fingers. But if it is progressive, the affected fingers can become quite large.
