The second season of the Japanese mystery series Alice in Borderland has also become a real Netflix hit. After the big reveal in the finale, many fans are hoping for Season 3. But what is known about the sequel to the popular manga adaptation? Warning, spoilers!
Alice in Borderlands Season 3 Coming to Netflix?
Netflix has not yet confirmed a third season of the story about Arisu (Kento Yamazaki) and Usagi (Tao Tsuchiya). Based on the continuing great international success of the new episodes a sequel is very likely.
In the end, however, this will require more than pure numerical success. With the season 2 finale the manga template by Haro Aso is completely told. Season 3 would have to break completely new ground in Game of Thrones style.
What’s happening in Alice in Borderlands Season 3 on Netflix?
Details of another story are of course not yet known. However, one of the final scenes of season 2 reveals a glimpse of a possible new villain. After Arisu and Usagi wake up in the hospital, the camera watches a group of other survivors in the facility’s garden. The wind blows a stack of playing cards off the table there. Only one remains. It’s the joker.

The Joker has so far been missing from the troupe of baddies in the series organized according to playing cards. Accordingly we might still have his appearance in season 3 ahead of us. In the manga, the Joker appears as a kind of mediator between life and death.
When is Alice in Borderlands Season 3 coming to Netflix?
It is still difficult to predict when fans will be certain about this. There were about two years between season 1 and season 2 due to the pandemic. Season 3 can probably be produced faster. We could get a publication end of 2023 to introduce. Whether Netflix will extend the series will be clarified in the next few weeks.
