We need to talk about what the boys did on the beach

We need to talk about what the boys did on

This text is a column with opinions that are the writer’s own and not Nyheter24’s.

Another week has been dusted off in Robinson 2024 and HOPE what Sunday’s episode was on offer.

Now it really feels like you got used to liking teams in the south and disliking teams in the north.

The sick thing is that every time things now go well for the southern team in the competitions, I think that it is basically Marcus Håkanssons earnings. This is because he put together the team that was going to be, well, right now unbeatable.

In addition to the fact that they absolutely slaughter all competitions, the whole team feels so incredibly in sync. Even though there are strong wills and personalities who don’t like to bow down, they manage to negotiate basically everything?

In Team North, the adversity continues to hit like sticks in the hill and the attitude towards each other is not the best. And so to give them some slack – if you’re out of fuel and continue to lose every single damn competition while you have Charlotta in the camp ripping away your immunities – well then maybe even the corners of your mouth would have pointed down as well.

After the island council, many of us were in shock.

This after witnessing Alexander Strandberg losing his duel…. This really has nothing to do with his opposition Paul. But Alexander….so the guy has died and risen again… like Jesus? Literally.

He also says just before the duel that he refuses to lose as his sons will be watching at home.

No, I wasn’t sure he was going to win – I was ROCK SURE. And damn what an anti-climax it was afterwards. Something in my gut tells me though that he’ll barge in on something left. Instead, he got to shoot arm in arm with Charlotta, Fredrik and Simone back to the Gränsland.

But now to the even more important part of this section.

It was a scene that made me stand up and scream straight out. Can you guess which one?

I can give some clues.

The biggest goosebump of the week. Image source: TV4

Since Mark is from Ireland and is not that well versed in Swedish football history, Marcus and Gustav decide to let him experience some big events – by having him himself play out the famous scenes.

When Mark gets to play Ravelli during the World Cup in 1994 and makes the famous shudder save whereupon the guys throw themselves roaring at each other followed by them jumping somersaults along the beach, I TOTALLY LOST IT. When Mark and Markus then played the scene where Mellberg and Ljungberg wrestled in a training session, I lost it again.

There’s something so wonderful about these strangers who, if they hadn’t been pushed into this show, would probably never have run into each other.

But here it is, on a deserted goddamn island, with no food or other necessities, scorching heat and sand fleas. And having so much fun?

What gave me such goosebumps is that at a certain second you can see when friendships for life are made.

And this is an occasion both they and I (as well as Ravelli) will soon forget.
