Wall Street cautious in Fed week

(Finance) – Cautious start for the Wall Street stock exchange, in the week in which the meeting meets Federal Reserve to decide on interest rates. The session on Friday 8 December closed higher thanks to investor optimism about the economy and inflation and the robust November employment report.

In the background, caution reigns over the state of theChinese economy after the sharp slowdown in consumer prices in November.

The central banks therefore remain in the foreground with the end-of-year meetings, scheduled for this week, which will determine the monetary policies for the first part of 2024.

Among US indices, the Dow Jones reports a change equal to +0.18%: on the same line, theS&P-500, with prices positioned at 4,599 points. On the levels of the day before the Nasdaq 100 (+0.01%); below parity theS&P 100which shows a decline of 0.48%.
