A suspiciously dangerous object has been found in a stairwell in Sörbyängen in Örebro. Residents in the area are asked to stay indoors according to a so-called VMA, an important message to the public.

Residents at certain addresses will be evacuated by the emergency services and police. The police’s bomb experts are involved and on their way to the scene.

– We have to work based on the thesis that it can be sharp, we don’t know that. We are taking measures to be on the safe side, says police spokesperson Gabriel Henning.

He emphasizes that it is important that the residents in connection with the cordons stay at home until they receive new information.

– It is important that you follow the directives given by the emergency services and police on site.

The emergency services’ ladder trucks will be used to evacuate some apartments and evacuation work is underway.

The alarm about the suspicious object came just before 2pm on Saturday.
