Vinted launches sending and collecting parcels from the supermarket

Thanks to Vinted, it will soon be possible to send and collect packages from your favorite supermarket. The second-hand platform has formed a partnership with Franprix and Carrefour which should delight the millions of French users.

This summer, Vinted innovates ! The second-hand platform intends to simplify the process of selling and buying for its 19 million French users. How ? By installing automatic terminals in local supermarkets. A project in collaboration with Franprix (of the Casino group) and Crossroads which aims to reduce environmental impact home parcel deliveries. Thus, in addition to going green, the Lithuanian unicorn makes the sale of second-hand clothes more accessible, by inserting it into a daily gesture: shopping. “With the Vinted lockers, we provide a double solution. We encourage city dwellers to adopt a small responsible gesture which is part of the continuity of the second-hand purchase while offering a time-saving solution. Our customers will be able to thus go to the end of their eco-responsible approach and recover, even more quickly, their parcel at the bottom of their home or on returning from the office.” explains Cécile Guillou, General Manager of Franprix. At the end of June, Vinted launched its test phase in around twenty stores in Paris, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de-Marne. If the results are conclusive, the second-hand platform will deploy its project in other cities in France. Great, right?

How does it work?

On the application, the user will be able to choose the delivery option by deposit when buying or selling an item, from or to Paris (and its surroundings). To facilitate the shipment, the seller can print the delivery label directly at the automatic terminal. Regarding delivery, it will be made within 3 to 5 working days, in electric vehicles to limit CO2 emissions. Finally, the buyer will be notified of the arrival of his find in the supermarket he has chosen via an e-mail and an SMS. Nothing’s easier.
